A medical doctor, researcher, and professor, he has served as a postdoctoral fellow and senior visiting scholar at UCLA and UCSD, a doctoral supervisor at five universities including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a postdoctoral supervisor at Sun Yat-sen University and Jinan University. He is the director (academic leader) of the National Level III Proteomics Laboratory and the National Key Research Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

He is the director (academic leader) of the National Level III Proteomics Laboratory and the National Key Research Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has previously served as the director of the Shenzhen Institute of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, the vice president of the Shenzhen Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, and the director of the Shenzhen Institute of Geriatrics. His main research focuses on integrated traditional and Western medicine in geriatrics, achieving numerous internationally advanced and domestically leading research results in areas such as geriatric neurodegenerative conformational diseases, non-invasive diagnosis, and clinical proteomics. He has led or participated in over 30 research projects, including one National 13th Five-Year Plan Major New Drug Development Project, one National Key Technology R&D Program project, one National 863 Program project, one Ministry of Science and Technology 973 Program project, and over ten National Natural Science Foundation of China projects. He has received the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award (Natural Science) from the State Education Commission and the China Traditional and Western Medicine Research Award. He has received over 20 science and technology awards, including the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine and the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award of Guangdong Province. He has published over 350 professional academic papers and authored or co-authored 48 professional academic works, including 38 textbooks on geriatric medicine for higher medical colleges (he serves as the deputy director of the editorial board). Among the 350 academic papers published, over 80 are indexed by the three major international indexes: SCI, EI, and ISTP. He has applied for and obtained over 180 invention patents. He has trained over 50 high-level professional and technical personnel, including postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, and master's students.
